Agricultural Show Disciplines

A horse show is a judged exhibition of horses and ponies. Many different horse breeds and equestrian disciplines hold competitions, from local to international levels. Most horse shows run from one to ten days, sometimes longer for major, all-breed events or national and international championships in a given discipline or breed. Most shows consist of a series of different performances, called Classes, wherein a group of horses with similar training or characteristics compete against one another for awards and, often, prize money.

In resemblance to the Dressage horse, Show horses are trained to shift their centre of gravity towards the hindquarters, thus placing more stress on the hind limbs (especially the hock and pastern joints). The goal with some of these show horses is to travel with high front-end action and extension. Horses which load more weight on the rear are going to be prone to hock, rear fetlock, and stifle injuries and disease.

Common recorded problems related to Show horses that Equissage can help with are;
  • Soft tissue injury to the lower limbs
  • Slow recovery and fatigue following consecutive days of competition
  • Decreased circulation and muscle movement during stall rest
  • Dehydration and muscle wastage
  • Muscular tone, expression and cadence compromised due to fatigue

With a basic understanding of equine biomechanics and physiology, the importance of muscle health is critical to performance and longevity.

Equissage is a safe, easy to use, natural, non-aggressive and non-invasive way to effectively warm up and cool down your horse, prevent common issues, improve performance and maintain your horse in peak condition.

Voted “Best New Horse Product in the World” in 2000 BETA UK, Show riders world wide love how Equissage provides a full body workout, equivalent to a 10km walk for their competition horse. Equissage gently penetrates through 4 foot of bone and 2 foot of tissue to provide the following benefits to Show horses:

  • Increased blood flow, specifically around the joints to decrease the likelihood of soft tissue injuries
  • Improved lymphatic drainage to assist in the removal of lactic acid, keeping your horse energised and willing and to encourage water consumption
  • Relaxation of the muscles, keeping them soft and supple; naturally helping to relieve pain, unlock tension, reduce muscle spasm, improves flexion, bend and suppleness
  • Improved joint mobility to assist in control, accuracy and flexibility of the gaits

Equissage is an essential tool in improving the health and performance of horses in every stable.
