Equissage Therapy, Accell Animal Therapy, and Niagara Therapy are all part of Australian Therapeutic Solutions Pty Ltd.

Equissage devices use the same technology and are manufactured in the same facility to the same high standards as Niagara Therapy products, listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as a Class IIa Medical Device. They are manufactured in our purpose-built Queensland facility before being shipped across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

Niagara Therapy has a diverse range of clients, from the elderly dealing with musculoskeletal pain, poor circulation, and mobility issues to Australian sporting teams using CVT to keep themselves in peak condition while assisting with injury rehabilitation and recovery. Equissage systems use the same proven Cycloid Vibration Therapy (CVT) technology as the Niagara Class IIa Medical Devices, making them an ideal option for those serious about providing the very best for their horses and animals.

Niagara’s patented CVT technology began in the coalfields of Canada in the 1920s. Miners discovered that by leaning against a vibratory coal separation machine, they achieved immediate relief for their aching backs and joints. Upon hearing this, the Wettlaufer Brothers, inventors, undertook formal research to develop this idea further. Using the mining equipment as a crude starting point, the brothers developed what is now known as ‘cycloid vibration technology.’ Cycloid Vibration Therapy is a unique energy wave created using a specialised 3-dimensional vibration motor and suspension system. As a result of their research and development, the Wettlaufer brothers were granted a US patent in 1931.

The potential of this life-changing technology was never fully realised until Mr Owen K. Murphy stumbled onto it in 1948, just after WWII. During the war, Murphy served with the Medical Corps and envisioned a vast range of products utilising this new technology. He was so confident of its medical and commercial potential that he paid USD$150,000 for the patent, and in 1949, Niagara was born.

The following decades saw Niagara expand its operations, beginning in Australia in 1969 and continuing in New Zealand in 1985. Several dedicated distribution partners currently distribute Niagara, Equissage and Accell Animal Therapy CVT products across various territories throughout Australia, NZ & Asia.
