What do you like most about your Equissage?
I love how relaxed and calm it makes my horses. In all the craziness of travelling and competitions I really see them stop and relax each and every time I use the Equissage. This is so important for my horses well-being I believe.
What do you feel makes you an elite athlete within your chosen discipline?
I feel that the amount of time and dedication I put into my horses can separate me from a lot of younger riders at my age. I’ve worked with some of the best riders in the world and know how a top yard works. I put what I’ve learnt into my everyday life, I run my small team like we are elite, I train like we have the Olympics coming up one day, I take it very seriously and I love that! I feel that if you truly have a solid routine it changes the way you preform. Incorporating my Equissage every day, makes a difference and even looking after my own body and health. I eat like an athlete, I think like one and I push myself like one. It’s something I’m very proud of myself for. – Within my chosen disciplines I have always strived for the top but always been realistic, there’s always going to be bumps in the road but I’ve never let that ruin what I want to work towards.
What will you bring to Team Equissage?
Besides creating great content for Equissage on my social media pages, I believe that I can contribute to the partnership by always presenting myself and my horses in a most professional manner on the ground locally. My horses love their Equissage treatments and it shows in everything about them. I take the Equissage to shows where people can see what it takes to keep 2 of the best SJ horses in the NY in top condition and I am always happy to give advice about their treatments.
Short Bio for Introduction for the Equissage Website
My name is Miya Fleming, I am a 21yr event/ show jump rider originally from Darwin. My family and I moved to New Zealand in 2015 where I found my love for Eventing and got Olympic dreams. I have been around the world working with Olympic Event riders since I was 17. My top horse Eon and I had much success at 2* eventing and 1.30m Show jumping and were Shortlisted on the NZ Eventing Talent ID Squad. I am now based back in Australia and there is a massive story behind it. As of now I have 2 lovely horses and we have been focusing on Show Jumping, both horses at 1.15m + level with much success. Eon currently leading the Gold Series in the NT. I absolutely love my Equissage and it comes into my everyday life and it shows in how both my horses look and preform each competition!
